Nordic Development Fund (NDF)
Last updated: 30/10/2026Program Overview
Program description and objectives:
NDF provides catalytic financing to enable and mobilise public and private sector financing for climate and development impact. NDF uses concessionary, patient and risk-tolerant capital to address gaps in financing structures, improve project risk profiles and help projects reach financial close and scale. Its approach includes co-financing public-sector projects through grants and concessionary loans, taking higher-risk positions in private-sector investments, and working with strategic partners to tailor financing to specific project needs. NDF aims to increase the number of projects receiving scale-up financing and leverage additional climate finance from both concessionary and commercial sources.
